Google I/O Conference 2024: Key AI Announcements and Gemini AI Tool Features

AI was the highlight of Google I/O Conference 2024. This time Google discussed Artificial Intelligence (AI) in which Google talked about AI integration in almost all applications. The conference was started by Sundar Pichai in which he discussed the Gemini AI tool.

Google made many important announcements including Gemini AI tool as well as Project Astra and Android 15 features at Google I/O Conference 2024. So let’s discuss the main announcements made by Google.

Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Flash

At the Google I/O Conference 2024, there was a lot of discussion about the Gemini AI tool. In Gemini 1.5 Pro, you get a limit of 2 million tokens, with the help of which you can feed more and more context in AI, in which you can get an accurate and good answer to your questions by giving all types of prompts like images, video, text and audio.

Now for a good and fast experience of your questions, Google will allow you to use Gemini 1.5 Flash, in which you will be able to upload the largest videos and complete PDFs and use them. The Gemini AI tool will also help you to create a summary of mail, highlight meetings on Google Meet and answer all your common questions from Google Photos.

Project Astra

Google also presented a demo of Project Astra at Google I/O Conference 2024. By using Project Astra, you can ask all your questions live and it will also give live answers to the questions asked by you, which is quite interesting because when you use it, you will feel as if you are talking to a human. Google explained in its demo how a user gives the AI model the task of finding an object in a room that makes a sound. Google said that after some time we will be able to use Project Astra in our phones as well.

At Google I/O Conference 2024, Google also gave a glimpse of AI powered smart glasses which Google is going to launch soon.

Google Veo and Imagen 3

In Google I/O Conference 2024, Google also discussed about its video and image generated tools. In Google Veo, you can enter any kind of prompt about what kind of video you want, in just a few minutes Google Veo will create AI generated HD video according to your prompt and give it to you. Using Imagen 3, you can also generate your favorite image, in this also you just have to give a prompt and tell what kind of image you want, Imagen 3 will generate your image in just a few minutes

LearnLM AI Models

Google also discussed better education for students in this event, for which Google also introduced its LearnLM, Generative AI model. Although this AI model is already available, but with more updates and new features, Google is planning to take it to Google Classrooms through a pilot program so that it can see how this AI model can help students in studying and teachers in teaching. LearnLM AI Models have been developed in partnership with Google’s DeepMind AI research and Google Research.

Trillium

In Google I/O Conference 2024, Google also discussed about its latest 6th generation TPU. TPU, whose full name is Tensor Processing Units, which is an AI chip, is called Trillium, it is very powerful, in which Google has been investing for a long time. This time Google is also going to bring the third generation SparseCore in Trillium. SparseCore is a processor that can process very large size “embeddings” quickly and with less power. Google is preparing to launch this Trillium at the end of the year.

Google I/O Conference 2024: AI in Google Search

In Google I/O Conference 2024, Google talked about bringing AI in its search, so that you can ask even the biggest logical question to Google and Google will give you accurate answers.
